I just got home from representing Mosquito Shield of West Michigan at the South West Michigan Bridal Show held at Wings Stadium in Kalamazoo, MI. This being my first bridal show, I didn’t really know what to expect other than an opportunity to talk about mosquito control to future brides.
What a great bunch of people, attendees and exhibitors alike!
Everyone seemed to be having a great time. And what a great turn out in spite of the winter storm warnings complete with frigid wind chills and blowing snow. The exhibitors were extremely friendly and willing to help anyone, even someone peddling mosquito control solutions for outdoor weddings. The attendees were gathering information by the bagful.
What a great industry to be able to work around!
As a 52 year old man, I thought that I might feel a bit out of place but I really enjoyed visiting with the brides and grooms-to-be. I thought that I may find 10 to 20 percent of the weddings being planned for outdoor weddings and receptions needing mosquito control. My first question was “are you planning an indoor or outdoor wedding”? I was surprised to find that over 50 percent of the ceremonies or receptions were going to be outdoors. Then I’d ask “have you considered mosquito control”? Again about 50 percent had not and were grateful that I’d asked the question. The typical answer was “not until you asked.”
They were very interested in learning about our service and how we work with them to provide the best results possible.
I was told that the cost of the average wedding today is about $25,000. That’s ten times more than the cost of our wedding in 1988. It makes sense that if you are spending $25,000 on an outdoor wedding, it would make sense to protect your event from mosquitoes.
With Mosquito Shield of West Michigan’s $25 promo code, the cost for mosquito control at your wedding would be $124. What is the value of having an outdoor wedding without mosquitoes?
Our next event is coming up on Saturday, Jan. 16. Mosquito Shield of West MI will be exhibiting at the Family Wellness Expo being held at the Kalamazoo County Expo Center from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Come on out and check out all the exhibitors. By all means, please stop by our booth and say hello.
